SEATTLE, Wash.–Bank of America announced their intentions to join Seattle’s “Safe Place” program Thursday morning.

All 37 locations of the bank in the city will now post signs in their windows, indicating they are a “safe place” for victims of anti-LGBTQ crimes and harassment to seek help.   Bank employees have been trained to learn how to provide safe harbor to victims and contacting law enforcement.

Bank of America is one of the biggest businesses to join the initiative.

The city launched Safe Place in May 2015.  Currently at least 1,600 businesses and schools are part of the program.
