BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A 32-year-old Washington state woman who said she always wanted to try killing someone with her bare hands has pleaded guilty to strangling her boyfriend.

The Billings Gazette reports Lindsay April Haugen pleaded guilty to deliberate homicide Monday in an agreement that calls for a 65-year prison sentence. District Judge Gregory Todd did not schedule a sentencing date.

Investigators say Haugen told them that she and 25-year-old Robert Glenn Mast were traveling from Olympia, Washington to North Dakota when they stopped in Billings on Sept. 15. She said Mast told her he wanted to die and she said she’d always wanted to try killing someone.

She told officers she got behind Mast in their vehicle, put her arm around his neck to choke him and held his mouth and nose shut.
