DES MOINES, Wash. -- George Brown's sisters are still are in disbelief that he's gone.
"I was devastated," said Stephanie Taylor, who described her brother as outspoken and genuine. "He would smile and had charisma and was joyful and he could dance."
Everyone knew the 29-year-old father of one as 'GQ'.
"I miss my big brother so, so much," said Sandra Brown.
He was found shot to death in an abandoned home on 29th Avenue South on January 7 after police got a 911 call from a neighbor who didn't want to be identified.
"I was walking my dog and I went past my mailbox and a guy came out and said there was a dead body in there," she said.
It's the second murder in this Pacific Ridge neighborhood within a two-week period. Danny Cisneros was shot to death one street over in front of his wife and son on Christmas Eve morning.
“We don’t know that these cases are connected other than the fact that both occurred within two weeks of each other, both victims were transient males and suffered from drug addiction. That’s why we need the public’s help in this case to either show that either one person is responsible for both homicides or if these are totally not connected," said Det. Dave Shields with Des Moines Police.
He says a lot of people have been coming in and out of the house over the last week and half, including a couple they are trying to find who've disappeared.
Raymond Carmona, who goes by 'Lucky', and Christina Perez were always around the neighborhood with their small black and white dog wearing a pink sweater. They are not suspects and detectives are concerned for them because they haven't been seen.
Right now, police don't know whether the two murders are linked.
"That`s why we need the public`s help in this case," Shields said.
Brown's sisters are busy planning his memorial and have started a GoFundMe page to raise money to pay for his funeral. If you would like to help, you can donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/fy5byq3w
"I just want the world and everybody to know he was somebody. You know, he was somebody very, very important to us," said Taylor.
